Community School is a gem of an organization in our Valley. They develop our future leaders, teachers and scientists, creating well-rounded humans. The students are nurtured not only in the academic realm but also socially to be better citizens, colleagues and workers. I find myself in awe at times when I hear an eleven year old girl discuss the complexities of world politics, listen to a fourteen year old boy help a five year old problem-solve an issue, or observe a group of kids pull off a superb and complex play. They incorporate service to the community in their curriculum and their culture.
Hats off to a great part of Roanoke!
