It's the 17th annual Lebanese Festival! Dates are May 29 - 31 at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church, 4730 Cove Road, RAIN or SHINE! Hours are: Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday, May 31, hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival features delicious Lebanese food, toe-tapping Lebanese music and traditional Lebanese dances performed in full costume. Activities for children include a Moon Bounce, Inflated Obstacle Course, face painting, and fun treats to purchase. There will also be a Silent Auction featuring baskets of goods, items from various businesses and gift certificates from many popular local restaurants. A "Taste of Lebanon" is provided in an area that will display various Lebanese artifacts, instruments, clothing, paintings, and facts about the country. For those who want to "Take the Festival Home!", frozen bulk food of selected items will be available for purchase (to heat and eat at a later time).
Admission is free, with a moderate charge for food and games. The festival features many vegetarian dishes such as hummus, falafel, homemade yogurt, and tabbouli, and also provides freshly grilled meat dishes such as lamb and beef kabobs and chicken. There are many Lebanese delicacies like spinach and meat pies, stuffed grape leaves, and of course wonderful Lebanese pastries, including Baklaweh.
