Author and journalist Ethan Hauser’s fiction has been published in <em>Esquire</em>, <em>Playboy</em>, and <em>New Stories from the South: The Year’s Best</em>. He was a finalist for the <em>Chicago Tribune’s </em>Nelson Algren Award. His first novel, The<em> Measures Between Us</em>, has been called “a tightly structured and enjoyable work of rare flair and subtlety” by the Irish Independent, an “elegantly crafted debut” by <em>The Daily Beast</em>, and a “powerful first novel” by the <em>Toronto Star</em>. Hauser received his M.A. from Hollins and his M.F.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and he is an editor at the <em>New York Times</em>, where his journalism also appears.
