Keynote Speaker Marah Gubar teaches and writes about children’s literature from a variety of periods, but she is especially interested in 19th- and 20th-century representations of childhood and the history of children’s theatre. Her book <em>Artful Dodgers: Reconceiving the Golden Age of Children’s Literature </em>(2009) won the Children’s Literature Association’s Book Award. She is associate professor of English at MIT and previously directed the children’s literature program at the University of Pittsburgh.
