Kemp is a native Roanoker, former college English instructor, and published poet who studied with Nikki Giovanni. Prior to her teaching career, she was a curator of the Harrison Museum of African American Culture. Kemp looks at how writing may be used as a personal and professional path to success, either as a career goal or safety net. In addition to exploring ways to make a living through writing, Kemp shows how the craft can help in dealing with the ups and downs of adulting. Black History Month event.
