Yvonne Maddox, PhD, will focus on the importance of biomedical research in improving human health. She will address many of the challenges associated with conducting translational research, and she will cover issues related to the role the public and various communities play in promoting and enhancing participation in clinical studies.
A public reception will precede the event in the VTC Cafe at 5:00 p.m.
Yvonne Maddox, PhD, helps oversee the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development's programs and $1.3-annual billion budget, which supports research on child development, developmental biology, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, intellectual and developmental disabilities, population issues, reproductive biology, contraception, pregnancy, and medical rehabilitation. She has also served as the acting deputy director of the National Institutes of Health.
