VIR to host the American Le Mans Oak Tree Grand Prix Oct. 5
VIRginia International Raceway is hosting the American Le Mans Series Oak Tree Grand Prix presented by Tequila Patrón on Oct. 5 at 2:15 p.m. The American Le Mans Series is one of the world’s premier sports car racing series featuring some of the most technologically advanced racing cars in the world.

VIR will be the second to last stop in the 10-race ALMS championship series for the 2013 season. The Oak Tree Grand Prix will take place on VIR’s historic full course, which is 3.27 miles with 17 turns and 130 feet of elevation changes. Drivers top speeds of 190 miles per hour during the nearly three hour race that includes the “climbing esses,” a section of the course considered by many race drivers as one of the most challenging and intimidating in North America.

Tickets purchased by Sunday, Sept. 29 are $90 for a four-day ticket, $80 for a two-day ticket or $70 for a ticket to Saturday only. After this date, tickets are $10 more. They can be purchased online at http://virnow.com or onsite at the VIR box office.
