VIRginia International Raceway is hosting its annual Open House and Charity Laps event to benefit Victory Junction. Community members can experience one of the top six road courses in North America for themselves with the opportunity to drive their own cars on the historic 3.27-mile full course for 15 minutes with a donation of just $25. Additionally, guests can get in the passenger seat for ride-alongs in high-speed cars such as VIR’s own NISSAN GTR, vehicles provided by the BMW Performance Center, professional racecar driver Jim Taggart’s GT3 Cup Porsche and others, for a $15 donation. All proceeds benefit Victory Junction, a nonprofit that enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illness by providing life-changing camp experiences in a medically sound environment, at no cost to the camper or their family.
Complimentary kart track access will also be available for all to enjoy throughout the family-friendly event. Gates open to the public at 8 a.m. and will close at 4 p.m. For more information on VIR, visit www.virnow.com.
