Calhoun & Kipp, 216 Market St., 985-9191. Great for stemware, wood carvings, glassware from Poland, and the only local outlet for Emerson Creek pottery.

Gift Niche, 101 Market St.; 345-9900. A shopper’s dream stuffed with garden flags, Christmas linens, holiday décor, jewelry, angel figurines, Pashmina wraps, purses and Willow Tree figurines.

Native Grace, 108 Church St.; 345-4519. A Fair Trade operation, benefitting suppliers with medical/dental care, offers 50 kinds of tea, children’s wear, clothing, jewelry, ethnic art and wood carvings.

Steger Creek, 4361 Starkey Rd. (behind Tanglewood), 774-0004. Great home décor with high-quality candles, select furniture, linens, year-round Christmas shop with Department 56 pieces, figurines and villages. Also lamps, rugs and Vera Bradley bags.

The Binaba Shop, 120 Campbell Ave., SW; 345-7064. Another Fair Trade enterprise, it offers authentic African goods: jewelry, beads, masks, animal heads, fabrics, baskets and straw bags.

Two and a Half Sisters, 2126 Colonial Ave.; 491-9787. Brand new shop across from Towers has all-occasion selections for weddings, babies, housewares and children’s furniture. Most items created on-site, can be customized and personalized.
