"9 to 5: The Musical"
Hollins University 7916 Williamson Road , Roanoke, Virginia 24019
"9 to 5: The Musical." Direct from Broadway, this hilarious new musical is based on the blockbuster hit movie and features a high-energy score by the inimitable Dolly Parton. It tells the story of three female coworkers pushed to the boiling point by their boss, provoking them to concoct a plan to get even with “the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot.” When these unlikely friends conspire to take control of their company, they learn there is nothing they can’t do—even in a man’s world. Set against the backdrop of women’s lib in the late 1970s, "9 to 5: The Musical" is a story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. Outrageous, thought provoking, and even a little romantic, "9 to 5: The Musical" is about teaming up and taking care of business. Music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. Book by Patricia Resnick. April 12-13 and 17-20, 7:30 pm; April 14, 2 pm; $10 general, free to current Hollins students, faculty, and staff. For tickets:
