Artist Lecture: Jeanne Ciravolo

Jeanne Ciravolo’s mixed media paintings and altered domestic textiles are rooted in family narratives and informed by historical representations of women and the relation of gender to power structures in domestic and societal contexts. Ciravolo has recently exhibited at LMAK Gallery (NYC), ODETTA (Brooklyn, NY), ARC Gallery (Chicago, IL), and the Ann Arbor Art Center (MI). She was an artist-in-residence at the Byrdcliffe Guild in 2018. In 2019 she was awarded the Joan and George Cole M.F.A. Award from the University of Connecticut, and a residency fellowship from the Anderson Center in Redwing, MN. Ciravolo is currently exhibiting her work in Social Justice in the Misinformation Age at Albright College in Reading, PA. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut.
