"Environmental Histories of the Ancient Mediterranean." Jennifer Moody of the University of Texas will speak on “Flood, Feast, Famine: adapting to climate change in Bronze and Iron Age Crete” at 4:30 pm. After a reception and a break for dinner, the Classics Symposium continues at 8 pm with a talk by Jeremy McInerney of the University of Pennsylvania whose topic is “Where's the Beef: the Sacred Economics of Raising Cattle in Ancient Greece."
