Each Monday night on the Waldron Stage of Mill Mountain Theatre, the Playwright's Lab at Hollins presents a talk by a prominent working professional theatre artist. This week’s guest is David Crespy, professor of playwriting, acting, and dramatic literature at the University of Missouri. He founded MU's Writing for Performance program and serves its codirector. He holds a B.F.A. in acting from Rutgers’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, an M.F.A. in playwriting (University of Texas at Austin), and a Ph.D. in theatre from the City University of New York. He is the recipient of the 21st Century Playwrights Award and the 2011 KCACTF Gold Medallion, the 2010 Region V Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Road Warrior Award, the University of Missouri Summer Research Fellowship, Provosts Research Leave, and Excellence in Education Award.
