Each Monday night the Playwright’s Lab at Hollins and Mill Mountain Theatre present a talk by a prominent working professional theatre artist. Again this year, due to ongoing pandemic restrictions, the Monday Night Guest Speaker Series will be presented live via Zoom. June 28: Keiko Carrerio Keiko Shimosato Carreiro – actor, designer, director Carreiro is the 2021-22 Bob Moss Residential Teaching Professional at Hollins. She is a collective and board member with the Tony award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe. Since 1987, she has been a performer, designer, cowriter, and director with the Company and has been in almost every summer show. Carreiro has performed at theatres throughout the Bay Area, including Berkeley Repertory Theatre, A.C.T., the Magic Theater, the Aurora Theater, Word for Word, and Center Rep. She was nominated for the Shellie Award for Outstanding Actress in the role of Grace in The Sisters Matsumoto at Center Rep. Carreiro teaches with the San Francisco Opera Guilds’ Book to Bravo and Voices for Social Justice programs and enjoys raising up the next generation of artist/activists.
