Each Monday night on the Waldron Stage of Mill Mountain Theatre, the Playwright’s Lab at Hollins University presents a talk by a prominent working professional theatre artist. This summer’s planned guests include Annalisa Dias, Gary Garrison, Erin Quinn Purcell and Jay Reis, Rick Cleveland, and Anne Morgan. Sponsored by the graduate program in playwriting.
<em><strong>July 16</strong></em><br /><strong>Rick Cleveland</strong>—Emmy-winning television writer and producer— received his M.F.A. from the University of Iowa's Playwrights’ Workshop in 1995. His television credits include <em>The West Wing</em>, <em>Six Feet Under,</em> <em>Mad Men</em>, <em>House Of Cards</em>, <em>Archer</em>, and <em>Man In The High Castle</em>. His stage play <em>Jerry and Tom </em>was adapted into a film and was an official selection at both the Sundance and Toronto Film Festivals. He also cowrote the screenplay for the motion picture adaptation of John Grisham’s <em>Runaway Jury</em>. Cleveland is a founding member of American Blues Theatre, Chicago's second oldest ensemble based theatre company, as well as a founding member of the Ojai Playwrights Conference.
