Kaldas is an associate professor of English and creative writing at Hollins. Her publications include <em>The Time between Places: Stories That Weave In and Out of Egypt and America</em>; <em>Dinarzad’s Children: An Anthology of Contemporary Arab American Fiction</em> (co-editor);<em> Letters from Cairo</em>, a travel memoir; and <em>Egyptian Compass</em>, a collection of poetry. Her work has been published in various journals and anthologies, including <em>Post-Gibran</em>: <em>Anthology of New Arab American Writing</em>, <em>The Poetry of Arab Women</em>, <em>Inclined to Speak</em>, <em>Callaloo</em>, <em>Mizna</em>, and <em>MELUS</em>. She received the Silver Award for<em> Dinarzad’s Children</em> (<em>ForeWord </em>Magazine Book of the Year Awards) and the RAWI Creative Prose Award.
