The 11th Annual Roanoke Regional Writers Conference at Hollins is the perfect event to learn, grow, and connect with other writers in the area. The snow date is January 26-27.
Jane Friedman is the keynote presenter. Friedman has 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, is a previous <em>Writer’s Digest </em>writer and current<em> Publishers Weekly</em> columnist, and is an award-winning blogger. She’ll not only be speaking on “The Competitive Creative” but also “The Art and Business of the Author Platform.”
This year’s conference will begin Friday night with registration and introductions, and the keynote kickoff from Jane Friedman. There will be a “Couch Q&A” with a few of the presenters, which also includes an open forum, so bring plenty of questions. Saturday begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., with classes starting at 9 a.m. Make sure to bring pen and paper, as well as any writing samples you might want to share in particular classes.
