Virginia is home to many talented and successful writers of all genres: history, children’s books, commercial fiction, mysteries and thrillers…the list goes on. This spring, check out two novels from authors with ties to the region.

I’ll See You in Paris” by Michelle Gable

Michelle Gable grew up in California and she attended college on the east coast at William and Mary. After graduating with a degree in accounting, Gable began a career in finance, though she always had a dream of writing a novel. Having been a writer since middle school, she found great success with her “New York Times” bestselling novel “A Paris Apartment.”

Her second novel, “I’ll See You in Paris,” tells the story of Annie Haley and her mother Laurel, a riding instructor living in Middleburg, Virginia. Newly engaged, Annie wants to know the truth about her father. Her quest for answers about her mother’s past lead her across the pond to the English countryside, and ultimately to Paris.

The Last Mile” by David Baldacci

National and international bestselling author David Baldacci has published 31 novels throughout his career. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia School of Law, Baldacci and his family call southwest Virginia home.

His latest novel, “The Last Mile,” is the sequel to the #1 “New York Times” bestseller “Memory Man.” Detective Amos Decker returns in a spectacular new thriller in which convicted murderer Melvin Mars is unexpectedly a free man after someone else confesses to the crime. It is up to Decker to learn who wants Mars out of prison, and why. But the case becomes even more complex when a member of Decker’s team disappears.
