A proposal to move the Vinton branch of the Roanoke County library system into the former Dunman Floral Supply warehouse in downtown Vinton has local officials excited about the potential of creating more downtown pedestrian traffic.

It may be a small town, but Vinton has proved it’s a great place to have a business.

Two years ago, officials in the Town of Vinton waited patiently to hear if they had received the much-anticipated Virginia’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). It was worth the wait.

If the nature-rich, small-metro Roanoke Valley is a great, undiscovered spot for families, then Vinton is the area’s beautiful, inviting back-porch gathering place.
