Ingredients
Hamburger Filling
1 lb. ground beef
2 Tbl. instant onion
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 Tbl. salad mustard
3/4 cup potato flakes
1 egg
3/4 cup catsup
1/4 cup hamburger relish
In a large skillet sauté ground beef, onion, salt, pepper until browned. Add remaining ingredients, blending well.
Also, this may be made ahead of time, cover & place in refrigerator several hours or overnight.
Crust
½ cup mashed potato flakes
2 Tbl. Melted butter
2 cups regular flour
1 Tbl. Sugar
1 tsp. Cream of tarter
1 tsp. Soda
1/3 cup butter/margarine
½ cup milk
¼ cup mayonnaise
½ cup shredded cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Serves 8 to 10, double for larger servings.
Combine ¼ cup potato flakes with melted butter & set aside. In large mixing bowl, combine ¼ cup potato flakes, flour, sugar, cream of tartar, soda, milk and mayonnaise. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse soft dough forms. Divide in half, shape into balls. Roll out one ball on floured surface to a 9-inch circle. Place on greased cookie sheet. Spread filling to within ½ inch of edges, sprinkle with cheese. Roll out remaining dough, place on filling, sealing edges. Brush with milk. Sprinkle with buttered potato flakes. Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
