STEPHEN HUFF, 33 / Litigation Attorney, Crandall & Katt, Attorneys at Law
A native of Franklin County, Stephen Huff served in Afghanistan as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer and was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” for Valor for sustained combat operations alongside Afghan National Army Special Forces. He holds a dual B.A. Degree in Public and Urban Affairs with a Public Policy Concentration and a B.A. in Political Science, from Virginia Tech and received his Juris Doctor Degree from the Liberty University School of Law. Huff specializes in representing clients with Traumatic Brain Injuries and other catastrophic injuries caused by truck and automobile accidents. “I believe that creating community, as well as sincerely contributing to solving its challenges, is the responsibility of every individual. ...I try to be an example of that in what I’ve been called to do through the various faith, veteran, professional and community groups of which I am involved,” he says.
From the Nomination: "Huff has developed a specialty in advocating for maximum compensation for clients who, through no fault of their own, have been left with severe, life-altering injuries that will require constant care for years to come. His compassion for these clients is evident as he works not only with the client, but the family members also affected by a significant injury. Huff is actively involved in a number of individual situations where he can provide pro bono legal services to underserved populations. Additionally, he actively volunteers at his local church and provides counsel when needed to its leadership body. Huff's caring and compassionate representation of severely injured individuals in the Roanoke area is his most distinguishing attribute. He regularly meets with clients in their home, including nights and weekends, so that family members can participate in understanding the legal process that is involved in assuring that future medical bills, life care needs, and lost wage issues are considered in legal proceedings surrounding the cause of the client's injuries."
