Dr. Pepper Park at The Bridges is offering live events throughout the summer.
The historic district along South Jefferson Street continues to evolve with the new events venue, Dr Pepper Park. Since opening in early May, the 2.3-acre venue has hosted Ashley Monroe in concert and the annual Woofstock Dog Festival, among other events.
“By having our own venue we can take advantage of artist routing for the first time in the history of the company,” says Waynette Anderson, president of Sponsor Hounds, which manages the new events facility. “We will bring in different types of entertainment. The space is adaptable to audiences of various sizes.”
In addition to some of the city’s most popular events, including Roanoke Wing Fest in August, Dr Pepper Park will host concerts, new festivals, corporate events and the new summer series Hump Day Hops, held one Wednesday each month.
“The new series is all about craft beer,” says Anderson. “Breweries will release new craft beers exclusively at the park weeks before they are available to the public.”
Also exclusive to Dr Pepper Park is the implementation of new customer experience systems, notably a mobile app that allows guests to access real-time information regarding parking, weather and directions.
“We’re the only venue that’s on the river with an unobstructed view of the Mill Mountain Star,” says Anderson. “It’s a really special place to hang out.”
