When disasters strike, SERVPRO of Roanoke County works to restore what customers already have before replacing it.
“We’re restorers,” said co-owner Kayla Henson. “When a material becomes compromised from water, mold, smoke, or odor, our goal is to try to restore it first instead of replacing it.”
Henson and her brother, Quinn Mongan II, stepped into co-ownership of the locally owned SERVPRO franchise with a focus on continuing their parents’ legacy while continuing to grow across the region.
Investment in new technology has improved efficiency and accuracy, particularly in drying hardwood floors and tile, which can help reduce reconstruction costs, insurance claims, and recovery time. Training is equally important, with multiple employees holding IICRC Master-level certifications and staff trained to understand water damage from the first call.
In 2025, SERVPRO expanded service into Botetourt and Alleghany counties and Lexington, committing dedicated resources and staffing. “We’re prioritizing that territory,” Henson said. “It’s creating stability they can rely on, and we’ll be part of their community during the work and after it’s done.”
As siblings and business partners, Henson said shared accountability strengthens their leadership. “What better person to work with than my brother?” she said. “We can hold ourselves accountable in a different way than just being coworkers. Being a second-generation business is something we don’t take lightly, but we hope to continue our parents’ legacy and service more people in SWVA as best as possible.”
