The owners of The Barbeque Grill have big plans for their restaurant, which has become a Vinton standard since they bought it in September 2014.
THE BARBEQUE GRILL & SAUCE COMPANY
You can smell the smoke long before you walk through the doors of The Barbeque Grill in downtown Vinton. Though the restaurant has been around for years, Ryan Adams took ownership just last year, and already he is thinking about the future.
Adams has barbequed as a hobby for 20 years and always wanted to own a restaurant. It is this passion for cooking and entrepreneurship that has made the restaurant such a success, serving lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday every week.
A large majority of menu items are made in house, including their signature barbeque sauces and hand-pulled pork. “The barbeque sandwich is a standard,” says Adams. “But people love the pulled pork tacos. It’s become our signature dish.”
“ I make the green beans, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese from scratch,” says Adams. “We smoke our own meat and serve only hand-pulled barbeque.”
In addition to serving Vinton diners, the owner has begun to expand the business, getting more involved in catering and local events, such as Mingle at the Market.
He is also planning to remodel the restaurant itself. “We’re going to redo the roof, replace the floors, get a new sign on the side, and eventually offer live entertainment” says Adams. “I want to have more live acoustic music, be a place where people come and hang out.”
