The Body Mechanic is proud to announce its approval as a participating provider in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Network (CCN), marking the successful completion of a two-year approval process.
This approval allows eligible veterans with authorized VA Community Care referrals to receive medically focused massage therapy services at The Body Mechanic, bringing targeted pain relief, injury recovery support, and improved quality of life closer to home.
Until now, many veterans in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding communities have had limited local options for VA-authorized therapeutic massage services, often requiring travel outside the immediate area to receive approved care. For veterans managing chronic pain, service-related injuries, mobility limitations, or the physical effects of stress and trauma, that additional travel created another obstacle to treatment. The Body Mechanic’s approval helps remove that barrier by providing specialized care within the local community.
For the past two years, The Body Mechanic has worked diligently through the extensive credentialing and approval process with one goal in mind: expanding access to quality care for the men and women who have served our nation.
“This has been a long journey, but one we believed was worth every step,” said David Sea, owner of The Body Mechanic. “For too long, veterans in our region have had limited access to medically focused massage therapy through the VA. When you’re already living with chronic pain or injuries, traveling long distances for care becomes another burden. We’re honored to help remove that barrier by providing specialized treatment right here in Salem.”
Unlike spa massage, The Body Mechanic specializes in medically focused massage therapy designed to address chronic pain, injury recovery, mobility limitations, muscular dysfunction, and stress-related physical conditions. Treatments are individualized to help clients reduce pain, restore mobility, improve function, and enhance overall quality of life.
The Body Mechanic recognizes the unique physical demands and long-term effects many veterans experience throughout and after military service. Becoming an approved VA Community Care provider reflects the clinic’s ongoing commitment to serving those who have served our country.
“We are incredibly proud to support our veteran community,” Sea added. “If we can help reduce pain, improve mobility, or simply make everyday life a little easier for those who have sacrificed so much, then we’re exactly where we want to be.”
Eligible veterans interested in receiving massage therapy through the VA Community Care Network are encouraged to speak with their VA healthcare provider about obtaining a referral. Healthcare providers and VA care teams interested in learning more about The Body Mechanic’s services are also encouraged to contact the clinic directly.
