JORDAN GIBSON, 33 / Financial Advisor, Edward Jones

Jordan Gibson grew up in Roanoke before earning her BA in finance and an MBA in leadership from Liberty University, eventually taking her expertise to Edward Jones as a financial advisor. New advisors in the region are trained under her leadership; the company took notice, inviting her to the home office in St. Louis to be part of their Client Care Commitment team. Gibson loves the area not only for the beauty of the area, but because of the people who offer a sense of belonging and community. She has a personal goal to volunteer at least two hours per month at different nonprofit organizations, wanting to see what goes on in the community at large. “A mentor of mine continuously reminds me, ‘activity breeds activity,’” she says. “My hope is that my passion for people will bring others together to share ideas, solve problems and … take action to positively improve communities.”

  •  Earned a BA in finance and an MBA in leadership from Liberty University
  • Member of Leadership Roanoke Valley as class of 2020
  • Ambassador for the Roanoke Salem Chamber of Commerce
  • President-nominee of the Rotary Club of Glenvar
  • Helps to train and coach new Financial Advisors in Southwest VA
  • Volunteers at various nonprofit organizations

From the Nomination: “In Jordan’s short time with Edward Jones, she has already been invited to help in leadership with the region and with the home office. She was also invited to the Home Office in St. Louis to be part of the Client Care Commitment Team. What impresses me so much about Gibson is that she is a mom to two small children, has already been involved with leadership within the local and national Edward Jones organization. She also has leadership roles with local organizations like Rotary & Chamber of Commerce. I’m very impressed with her personal requirement to volunteer for two hours at a different nonprofit organization every month to gain a better understanding of the needs of the community. And to top it all off, she always has a smile on face and still somehow finds time to go to the gym! I believe she is a model mother and citizen and worthy of recognition.”

What do you love about Roanoke?

Gibson: “Two of the things that I love the most about the Roanoke Valley are the people and the beauty of our area. We are people that care about one another, there is a sense of belonging and community. I see people who want to help and want to make a positive impact. The physical beauty of our area is unmatched. From running on the greenways, hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, and kayaking the Roanoke River, there is always something fun to do and beauty all around. I’m very thankful to have grown up here and continue to live here.”
