The 5PTS Outdoors concert series returns to The Dog Bowl at Black Dog Salvage for its 2026 season, continuing to grow as a community-focused event supporting accessibility and music therapy initiatives through the 5 Points Music Foundation.
The 5PTS Outdoors concert series, presented by Steel Dynamics, Inc., returns to The Dog Bowl at Black Dog Salvage this weekend, launching another season of live music, community gathering, and festival energy at one of the region’s most distinctive outdoor venues.
Building on three successful years of venue management, the series continues to grow in both audience and experience. Located between the Roanoke River Greenway and Black Dog Salvage, The Dog Bowl offers an all-ages festival atmosphere with plenty of room to spread a blanket, bring a chair, and enjoy live music while supporting a great cause.

New for 2026, the 5PTS Legendary Brunch & Benefit Series will raise funds for local non-profits. Held on Sundays following Saturday concerts from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., these events feature live music, vendors, kids activities, food trucks, and brunch offerings.
“Every year we see more people discovering what a special place The Dog Bowl is,” said Tyler Godsey of the 5 Points Music Foundation. “It has the kind of festival atmosphere people love with great music, a welcoming community, and plenty of room to relax and enjoy the evening. We’re excited to continue growing the series in 2026 while supporting the mission of the foundation.”
The partnership between the 5 Points Music Foundation and Black Dog Salvage continues to expand as improvements and additions are made to the venue each season.
“We have always believed this space had the potential to become one of the most unique music venues in the region,” said Mike Whiteside, co-founder of Black Dog Salvage. “Seeing The Dog Bowl come alive with music and people has been incredible. It reflects the creativity, reuse, and sense of community that are central to Black Dog.”
“The Dog Bowl was built with salvaged materials, a bit of craftmanship, and a lot of imagination,” added Robert Kulp, co-founder of Black Dog Salvage. “It is a place where creativity, music, and community come together, and we are proud to host this series with the 5 Points Music Foundation.”
Thanks to the support of generous sponsors, proceeds from the Saturday evening concert series will support music therapy, hearing loss advocacy, and accessibility initiatives through the 5 Points Music Foundation. The Sunday Brunch & Benefit series will support a featured regional non-profit partner at each event.

About The Dog Bowl
The Dog Bowl at Black Dog Salvage, located between the Roanoke River Greenway and Black Dog Salvage, is one of the region’s most distinctive outdoor music venues. Designed in signature Black Dog style, the space showcases salvaged materials throughout. The stage is a converted semi-trailer from the Moneta Drive-In, supported by a mezzanine reclaimed from Black Dog’s main warehouse, while a repurposed radio tower holds the lights and speakers above the stage. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy ample space for live music. A nearby selfie station features a LOVEwork celebrating the slogan “Virginia is for Lovers.”
