SHASHANK MATHUR, 27 / Associate Application Engineer, TMEIC

Shashank Mathur completed his MS in Engineering from North Carolina State University, moving to Roanoke in 2019 after receiving an offer from TMEIC, a leader in technology with global footprints specializing in industrial automation systems for electric drives and motors for a wide range of industries, including renewable energy, metals, crane systems, oil, gas and paper, among others. Mathur applies his knowledge in the domain of electrical engineering and processes to specific hardware equipment that facilitates efficient operations. He has traveled to major international and national locations to install equipment and processes, as well as communicate the needs of the industry to others. Mathur published and presented at the Port & Terminal Technology 2019 conference on a solution that provides cleaner energy by reducing noise in the electrical system that will ultimately reduce cost and maintenance. He says, “I am passionate about impacting the technology that serves the industry to become cleaner, more efficient and environmentally friendly.”

From the Nomination: “Mathur completed his MS in Engineering at NCSU with a highly brilliant thesis. He has traveled to major international and national locations to install TMEIC equipment and processes. He has brought distinction to his projects and the Roanoke region and has rapidly advanced with assignments to national and international locations. Mathur sets himself apart through the honesty of his communication process to the management and customers of TMEIC. He has been actively involved in attending local international groups of diverse interests, including Hindu and Islamic constituencies.”

What do you love about Roanoke?

Shashank: “Roanoke is rapidly progressing towards becoming Virginia’s epicenter for technological advancement and growth in medical, science, engineering, robotics, automation and many other spheres, with access to number of great schools, colleges and universities that attract amazing talent to the technological workforce. Surrounded by the beautiful mountains in the valley town, Roanoke offers the best of the mother nature and lots of places to hike, bike and go outdoors.”
