Faith Christian School Welcomes Dr. Kyle Rapinchuk as Fifth Head of School

Following the retirement of longtime Head of School Peter Baur after twelve years of faithful leadership, Faith Christian School is pleased to welcome Kyle Rapinchuk, Ph.D., as its fifth Head of School. Dr. Rapinchuk begins serving July 1st, following a year-long national search.

Dr. Rapinchuk brings more than fourteen years of experience in Christian classical education. Most recently, he served for two years as Head of School at Sager Classical Academy in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Prior to that, he spent twelve years a School of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, where he served as Associate Professor of Christian Worldview, Upper School Curriculum Director, and Lead Teacher.

In addition to his school leadership experience, Dr. Rapinchuk is the founder of The Classical Thistle, a ministry that provides conferences and online resources promoting classical Christian education for the twenty-first century. He also serves as an editor for accreditation reports and as a member of accreditation teams for the Society for Classical Learning. He and his wife have served in ministry together for more than a decade and are the parents of three children, all of whom have been classically educated.

“The Board of Directors is thrilled with the depth of Dr. Rapinchuk’s experience in Christian classical education, administration, leadership and teaching as well as his alignment the values and authenticity that make Faith Christian extraordinary,” said Board Chair Katy Eng. “These experiences, combined commitment to life-long learning, make him an outstanding fit for our school.”

One colleague described Dr. Rainchuk as having a “rare balance of academic horsepower and a pastor’s heart.” The colleague added, “His academic training, writing ability, and intellectual depth are very strong, but what makes him unique is that those gifts are paired with genuine pastoral care. It is uncommon to find someone who operates at such a high level in both areas at the same time.”

Dr. Rapinchuk shared, “My family and I are delighted to be joining Faith Christian School. The long history of the school and its excellent leadership played a huge role in us considering this position, and the people we met on our visit helped make it clear that Faith is a place we would love to be. Faith is obviously a special place, and we are excited to be joining the long, successful history and look forward to meeting so many more wonderful people in the community.”
