I always knew my husband would be a great dad. How? Because he’s great with our dogs.
You may be laughing, but it’s true. He would do anything in the world to protect and care for our beagle Billy and dachshund Kylie. He’s as excited to see them at the end of the workday as they are to see him, minus wagging his tail and licking their faces, of course. He’s also been known to hold Kylie like a baby. And this love and compassion he has for our pets has carried over to our sweet Sydney tenfold.
I think I could sit all day and watch him interact with her, whether they’re playing with her toys or he’s bouncing her on his knee while singing a silly song. On the nights he puts her to bed, I secretly stand at the bottom of the steps to listen to him read her a story. My heart melts every time.
And whenever she looks up at him and gives her signature grin, I know his heart melts too. Is he wrapped around her finger? You’d better believe it. And he wouldn’t want it any other way.
