Your Favorite Pet Stories – Week 3!

Join us for a multi-week blog series as we share some of YOUR favorite pet stories. Thank you for sharing them with us!

Pet’s Name: IzzyBella

Owners: Judy Tucker, Roanoke

Breed: Shih Tzu

Age: 9

Gender: Female

Gets his/her shots and pet care at: Southern Hills

Your Pet’s Story: I responded to a request for a shihtzu stud to breed and responded. When asked how much I wanted for the service, I chose the pick of the litter…the only little girl…IzzyBella. I held her the night she was born and I’ve never let her go since! She is so smart…I think she’s turned part human. We traveled like Thelma and Louise from NY choosing to live here in Roanoke. She loves it…She’s become more of a princess though, pretending not to recognize that little bit of snow we got, when, in NY she used to barrel through it like crazy. She has us well trained and recently as we moved from an apartment to a whole house, has her own yard to rule like she owns it!

Favorite Place to Play: In the middle of the bedsheets when I’m trying to change them…so hysterical to watch.

Favorite Treat: BEGGIN STRIPS she has a toy that we hide it in…it only takes her seconds to find it.

Favorite Toy: Her recent Easter egg baby that when she notes it, it laughs like a silly baby. (Not so silly in the middle of the night when we are trying to sleep though)

Best Trick: Choosing a special toy EVERY TIME we arrive home to greet her

Best Advice for Pet Owners: Give them your time and love…they depend on you for everything, since they don’t have their own thumbs!

Pet’s Name: Opie

Owner: Jamie Seidell, Bedford County

Breed: Shih Tzu

Age: 1 year

Gender: Male

Gets his/her shots and pet care at: Bedford Animal Hospital

Your Pet’s Story: My mommy adopted me from Angels of Assisi when I was 12 weeks old. The breeder that dropped me and my siblings off at 6 weeks old had tried to cut our tails off for some reason but luckily they were able to save our tails. I am really glad to because the ladies love my tail! Two of my siblings were adopted by my foster mom and receptionist at my moms work so I get to play everyday with my brother and sister. My mommy says Im spoiled rotten but I don’t think so. :p My mommy tried to attach my really handsome picture of my mohawk but page wouldnt let her. Oh well.

Favorite Place to Play: I enjoy playing in my backyard and sneaking and digging little holes when my mom isn’t looking. I also enjoy going to the park where I make my dad push me in the baby swings.

Favorite Treat: I love everything and will enjoy any treat you give me! I am not picking at all but I do enjoy a good milkbone.

Favorite Toy: I have lots of toys but my favorite is socks tied into knots.

Best Trick: I think my best trick is to dance and shake.

Best Advice for Pet Owners: My advice to all humans is to always give your doggies the best life you can with fun, couches, treats, walks, and spa days etc. as you can!

Pet’s Name: Junie B

Owner: Shellie Leete, Rocky Mount

Breed: Irish Jack Russell

Age: 10 years

Gender: Female

Gets his/her shots and pet care at: Rocky Mount Pet Clinic

Your Pet’s Story: She is assistant innkeeper at The Claiborne House B & B. She hangs out with guests on the porch and some, missing their own four-legged family members have even taken her for a walk around town, which is very hilly, as you may or may not know.

Favorite Place to Play: Everywhere. She screams like a banshee if she goes to a Virginia State park…

Favorite Treat: Bacon, what else is there?

Favorite Toy: Cacon, oh and Le Poope, a stuffed dog with a big head

Best Trick: Chooses her favorite treat when you offer her two closed hands, one hiding the treat. Ask her to pick one and she will.

Best Advice for Pet Owners: Let them encourage you to get outside!
